Couch Potatoe

Emma loves to lounge on the big sofa in front of our back window. Our couch has no back on it, so it gets direct sun. She loves it, I find her there basking in the sunshine, napping, licking her paws, or looking out of the window for hours at a time. The only problem is she can't get up on the couch on her own. She's too short, she's only 8 inches tall (the floor to her shoulders). So, she has trained ME to give her a boost when she wants to go up there.

Bark & Wave

I don't know if I'll be regretting this later or not, but I'm teaching Emma how to bark on command. She has learned this one quick! I guess she is smarter than I thought. I had to ring the doorbell to get her to bark & then I said, "Emma, Bark" along with a hand signal. I only had to do it a couple times and then she caught on. Only she doesn't really bark, she makes a quiet, kind of coughing-gruff sound.

I also tried to teach her "wave". She knows shake a paw, & high 5, so I modified the wave from those. I think she's confused because she's waving and shaking both her paws at random now when she knows I have a treat in my hand.
